Our History
The Journey to Turkey
Standard Textile was founded by the YILDIRIM family, headed by N. YILDIRIM, an immigrant from Afghanistan to Turkey. YILDIRIM escaped from the internal civil war in Afghanistan and came to Turkey when he was seventeen. His family later joined him. “I went to several countries until I eventually settled in Turkey,” shared N. YILDIRIM, chairman and founder of Towelity.
Finding a Home in Istanbul
He first started his towel business in 2005, after he was graduated from university as a small business based in a small apartment office in Istanbul. As he knew seven languages and was graduated from the international relations department, he first based the business on international marketing of towels and bathrobes. Initially, the company was dealing also with retail towels and bathrobes for home usage. Later, however, the company decided to focus only on commercial towels and bathrobes. The business grew quickly and in a short time many international distribution networks and constant importers was secured. This encouraged the team to gradually enter into manufacturing of towels and bathrobes. The growing demand for the textile products manufactured in Turkey helped the company to increase the production capacity. Commitment to quality and particular care to the demands of the international buyers consolidated the growth of the company. The company eventually became and remains today one of the most respected towel and bathrobes manufacturer in Turkey.
What’s next for Towelity
Under the leadership of N. YILDIRIM, we have established a wide network of distributors, dealers, shops and associates in more than 50 countries now. Our next target until 2025 is particularly Anglo-Saxon countries. We are committed to reach this goal in spite of all obstacles posed by the pandemic environment. We believe that our products that are engineered to deliver durability, longevity, and value will help us reach this goal. Our experience in design, manufacturing, IT infrastructure, and international shipment will guide us towards our new goal.

We wanted to use a brand unique only for our international business. Relatively, Towelity was picked up as the new distinguishing sign in our flag.
